Turkey vows to boost cooperation with Vietnam

VNA - Turkey will work hard to boost its multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam, initially by raising two-way trade from 600 million USD in 2008 to 1 billion USD by 2010.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul made this pledge during a reception for Vietnam’s ambassador to Turkey, Duong Huynh Lap, who presented his credentials on March 4.

President Abdullah praised Vietnam’s achievements during its renewal process over the past 20 years, particularly in the fields of economics, politics, security and social order, as well as during its period of international integration.

He said that he was pleased with developments in the two countries’ bilateral ties and that the two nations’ potential for cooperation remains huge, especially in economics and trade.

Ambassador Lap affirmed Vietnam’s determination to strengthen its multi-faceted cooperation with Turkey for their mutual benefit.
