Party leader meets with overseas Vietnamese
Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh on Sept. 1 welcomed representatives of overseas Vietnamese from 17 foreign countries, who visit the Fatherland on the occasion of Vietnam’s 63rd National Day (Sept. 2).
Hanoi (VNA) – At the meeting, General Secretary Manh highlighted the Vietnamese people’s achievements over the recent past, stressing they are resulted from the national great unity, especially contributions by all patriotic Vietnamese at home and abroad, he stressed.
The Party leader reiterated the Party and State’s policy to consider overseas Vietnamese an integral part and a valuable human resource of Vietnam . Overseas Vietnamese have contributed to boosting Vietnam’s cooperation and friendship with the international community, he said.
The leader was delighted at overseas Vietnamese’s stable situation and increasing integration in local communities.
He praised overseas Vietnamese for maintaining the use of the Vietnamese language, preserving Vietnam’s cultural identities and traditions, promoting mutual assistance to contribute to their resident countries and the home country as well.
The Vietnamese Party, State and people highly valued overseas Vietnamese’ patriotism and assistance to the national construction, he stressed.
Representatives of the overseas Vietnamese thanked the Party and State for paying great attention to the overseas Vietnamese community. They expressed their pleasure at the country’s great achievements, saying they were proud of their contributions to the national construction.
They also made some recommendations on the policies for overseas Vietnamese, aiming to facilitate their lives abroad and create favourable conditions for them to contribute more to the national construction.
On the evening of the same day, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Huynh Dam received the visiting delegation of overseas Vietnamese.
