Yves Leterme: natural disasters in the Pacific and humanitarian aid

Foreign Minister Yves Leterme has expressed his solidarity with the people of the Philippines, the Samoan islands, Tonga and Vietnam following the natural disasters that have hit the population of the area. On behalf of the Belgian government, Minister Leterme extends his condolences to the families of the victims and shares the concern of many Belgians about the fate of the injured and all those who have lost their home or possessions.

 

Accordingly, Minister Leterme has decided to release a sum of €300,000 from the Foreign Affairs emergency aid budget to help victims in the region. Preparations are currently underway to ensure that this money is quickly allocated to provide
