First Viet Nam Ambassador goes to Greece

(VNA - 24/6/2011) - Vu Binh, the first Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece , presented his credentials to Greek President Karolos Papoulias on June 20.

President Papoulias recalled his fine impression about Vietnamese people and land and the country’s achievements in its national renewal.

Ambassador Binh expressed thanks for support and assistance from the Greek people to Viet Nam during its struggle for national independence and unification in the past and during the on-going industrialisation, modernisation and international integration, as well as the building of a society of equality, democracy and civilisation.

Host and guest shared the same view that with the establishment of diplomatic agencies in the capital city of each country, the two sides needed to have strong long-term plans and initiatives to create breakthroughs and momentum for development of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in every field, with a focus on maritime activities, sea tourism and culture./.
