Welcome remarks of the Ambassador

It is my great honor to warmly welcome you to the website of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.  After 20 years of implementing the Renovation (Doi Moi) policy, Vietnam has been steadily marching on the way of industrialization and modernization of the nation and is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

With such accelerating growth, Vietnam is striving to get out of underdevelopment and to lay foundation for the country to become basically industrialized by 2020. So far, Vietnam has established relationship with almost all countries and major international organizations and has been playing a proactive role in the international community.

Vietnam and Japan established diplomatic relationship on September 21, 1973. Since then, the bilateral cooperation has strongly been developed. The two countries are building the strategic partnership for peace, prosperity in Asia, which opens up a period of the most animated and broad-based development.
