Vietnam – a beautiful country, the cradle of 54 ethnic groups coexisting peacefully in their rich cultures and traditions – is rapidly developing. Today, Vietnam is known in the world as a symbol of dynamic development, multi-cultures with hospitable and friendly people. After more than two decades of transitioning towards a market economy, Vietnam has emerged as one of the most dynamic developing countries in the world. At present Vietnam entertains diplomatic relations with 172 countries, enjoying economic and commercial ties with 220 different economies. Among those, Vietnam – Laos relations are of special significance.

The traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos originated from the struggle for our respective national independence. During the struggle for national independence and construction, the Parties, Governments and people of the two countries have always assisted each other, together preserving and nurturing the special relationship of faithfulness and great mutual trust. The two peoples always enjoy each other's respect and brotherly love.

Against the backdrop of the current rapid international integration, Vietnam and Laos continue to consolidate and broaden cooperative ties in all fields, namely economics, trade, education, culture, science and technology, security and defense. Along with the bilateral relations, the two countries also promote their cooperation in multilateral frameworks.

The effective comprehensive cooperation has resulted in significant improvement in each country’s society and economy, people’s living standards and their international status.

As the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic,  a beautiful brotherly country, rich in culture and tradition, faithful and trustworthy, I will do my utmost to consolidate our special solidarity and deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and nations.
