Viet Nam ready to help Laos improve women's progress

Ha Noi (VNA) – Viet Nam is always ready to help step up women's advancement, said Prime Minister Phan Van Khai while receiving, in Ha Noi on Thursday, Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad.

Viet Nam is willing to exchange its training experience with Laos and help the country map out policies to raise the living standard for women in far-flung and difficult areas, the Vietnamese PM said.

Lao Deputy PM Somsavat Lengsavad, who is here as head of a delegation of the national committee for advancement of Lao women, said his Viet Nam visit is a fact-finding trip to learn Vietnamese women's experience in socio-economic development, especially their contributions to national construction.
