Vietnamese, Lao localities cooperate in ensuring border security

(VNA) - Coc village of central Quang Tri province of Viet Nam and Asok village of Salavan province of Laos committed to sisterhood at a ceremony held on Mar. 31.

The two sides passed a joint regulation, aimed to boosting the traditional relations and jointly ensuring security in their common border, thus building the Viet Nam-Laos border area of special solidarity and friendship.

The two sides will accelerate the exchange of information and implement the regulations of the Viet Nam-Laos border areas, jointly solve problems relating to cultural and socio-economic development.

All 17 remaining border villages of Dakrong and Huong Hoa districts of Quang Tri province plan to commit sisterhood with 17 villages in Salavan and Savannakhet provinces of Laos in 2007./.
