Lao President: Laos-Viet Nam solidarity, invaluable heritage

The long-lasting friendship and special solidarity enjoyed between Laos and Viet Nam during both wartime and in peace are invaluable treasures that the two nations will share forever.

So said Lao President Choummaly Saynhasone on the occasion of the 45 th founding anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962) and the 30 th anniversary of the Laos-Viet Nam Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18, 1977).

The Lao President told Vietnamese and Lao media on May 16 that such friendship has become an example of the loyalty and mutual assistance in the international relations.

No area of the country was not supported by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts, who came to help the country fight against colonists and imperialists during its struggle for independence, he added.

The Lao party, government and people always respect the traditional Laos-Viet Nam solidarity and cooperation, the Lao President said. He affirmed that the two countries had continued to support each other over the last 30 years in the cause of national construction and defence and will continue to do so./.
