The US and Vietnamese agencies will conduct a training programme to enhance bilateral trade and cooperation in the field of standards and conformity assessment.
The year-long programme will be implemented by the US Trade Development Agency (USTDA) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in cooperation with the Vietnamese Directorate for Standards and Quality (STAMEQ). It will focus on the different approaches to standardisation in the two countries and provide Vietnamese stakeholders with a more comprehensive understanding of the benefits of a market-driven approach to standards and conformance.
One of the main priorities of the programme will be to provide STAMEQ and other Vietnamese public and private sector leaders with necessary tools to effectively facilitate trade and engage in international standardisation.(VOV)
