Ha Noi, Dec. 27 (VNA) - President Tran Duc Luong on Monday sent condolences to leaders of Southeast and South Asian nations which were hit by an earthquake and tidal waves on Sunday.

President Luong conveyed his deep condolences to Indian President Abdul Kalam, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga and Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, over the enormous losses of lives and property in the catastrophe.

On the same day, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai also extended messages of condolence to Indian PM Manmohan Singh, Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra, and Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapakse.
