Overseas Vietnamese delegates return home for Tet


Ha Noi (VNA) - For the first time a delegation of 35 overseas Vietnamese delegates has returned home for celebration of the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) from Jan. 30- Feb. 5 under the aegis of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Foreign Ministry.

These delegates have actively participated in activities for the development of the overseas community and made contributions to the national construction and defence. They include Nguyen Van Tinh, a businessman and President of the overseas Vietnamese association in Schwerin, Germany; Luu Thanh Dung, an engineer and Vice President of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in France; Dao Thi Minh, member of the executive board of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Japan; and Nguyen Cong Chung, President of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Hague, the Netherlands.

While in the country, the delegation will attend an incense-offering ceremony at the Hung Kings Temple in the northern mid-land province of Phu Tho, join Tet celebrations organized for overseas Vietnamese by the committee in coordination with the Viet Nam Fatherland Front and the Ha Noi People’s Committee, visit scenic spots and meet with the press.
