Viet Nam, Cambodia unions strengthen ties
The Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) has pledged to work closely with its Cambodian counterpart on international forums as part of its multi-faceted cooperation programme.
The pledges were made by a VGCL delegation led by Nguyen Huy Can, a member of VGCL Presidium, during a meeting with Madame Men Som On, Minister of National Assembly, Senate Relations and Inspection, in Phnom Penh on Sept. 11.
Men Xom On, also Chairwoman of the Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendly Parliarmentarians’ Association, said she believed that the two union organisations would work out steps to be taken for further development.
Earlier, on Sept. 10, the Vietnamese delegation held talks with the CUF, offering Cambodian unionists short-term training in Viet Nam as part of a human resources package.
Office equipment that included computers, printing machines and photocopies, for the CUF were presented to the Cambodian body.
Vietnamese guests also met with Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation It Som Heng, and Minister of Labour and Vocational Training Vong Sot. (VNA)
