NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung holds talks with President of Mexican Senate Jose Gonzalez Morfin
Chairman Hung described the visit by Mexican Senate President Morfin as a vivid symbol of the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries.
Viet Nam is pursuing a foreign policy of openness and cooperation with all nations worldwide for peace and development, the Vietnamese legislative chief said, adding that the nation is restructuring its economy, improving the scope of poverty reduction and attracting more foreign investment.
He proposed both sides increase the exchange of experience in economics, trade, investment, socio-culture and law-making.
The two parliaments should further cooperate in supervision work and the exchange of parliamentarians and delegations at all levels, he said.
The Vietnamese NA is ready to act as a bridge to promote diplomatic ties between Mexico and other ASEAN members, Hung said, stressing that Viet Nam wants to expand its friendly relations with Mexico and American nations.
He suggested the two sides establish a Vietnam-Mexico Inter-Governmental Committee and sign a cooperative agreement between the two parliaments.
For his part, the Mexican Senate President affirmed that his visit aims to beef up the relationship between the Mexican Senate and the Vietnamese legislature.
He voiced his support for the establishment of the Viet Nam-Mexico Inter-Governmental Committee and the signing of a cooperative agreement between the two parliaments.
Morfin said he hoped the two countries will speed up joint projects, to bring practical benefits to both sides.
At the talks, the two sides exchanged information about each country’s socio-economic development and agreed to promote all-round bilateral cooperation between the two countries and parliaments, especially the exchange of parliamentarians’ friendship groups./.
