Greetings from the Ambassador

The friendship and cooperative relationship between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates is entering into a booming stage of extensive and intensive development.
With the dynamic development of Vietnam’s emerging economy with around 9% annual growth rate as a result of the renewal ( doi moi ) policy and steady transformation towards a market economy, comprehensive international integration, an attractive environment for investment, a stable government and political climate…. Vietnam is viewed as an attractive investment destination, which is both secure and profitable.
Today there are many prestigious groups from the UAE and GCC countries such as Sama Dubai, Dubai Holdings, Emirates International Investment, Al Mumtaz Contracting General Trading & Maintenance, Kingdom Hotel Investment, Qataridiar Property Co. and others which are starting to look seriously to Vietnam as an ideal destination for their international investment portfolios.
Concurrently, the dynamic market in the UAE is also attracting Vietnamese enterprises because of its strategic geo-position as a bridge to connect the economies of Asia, Europe and Africa, its plentiful capital sources and its open-market. Most of Vietnamese companies are concentrating on the UAE as a hub for their activities in the region. Vietnam already supplies numerous goods to the UAE market. Thousands of Vietnamese workers and engineers are working on many UAE construction sites and workshops, making a positive contribution to the country’s development.
The mutual aspiration to expand the relationship between our two countries, taking it to new heights has been demonstrated recently with the official visit to Vietnam by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai in September, 2007 and the decision of Vietnamese government to open its embassy in Abu Dhabi, which is reciprocated by the UAE Government with the opening of its embassy in Hanoi.
It is my great honor to be assigned by President Nguyen Minh Triet as the first Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the United Arab Emirates. I assure you that I will do my best to serve for the mutual benefit of our two great countries.
