(Signing ceremony the Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service/official passports)

H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Zeljko Bosnjak,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Today, it is a great honor for me, on behalf of the Government of Vietnam, to sign the Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service/official passports. The Agreement demonstrates the commitment of both Governments to facilitating travel and work of citizens and desiring to further develop the cooperation between the two countries.

I am delighted to note that the friendly cooperation relations between Vietnam and Croatia has gradually improved and begun its in-depth development. Our two countries specially signed Agreement on Economy Cooperation during the visit of  President of Croatia to Vietnam in March 2008. We are currently negotiating Agreement on Investment Promotion and Protection and Agreement on Double Tax Avoidance which have created a legal framework for the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. Signing the Agreement on exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service/official passports marks a new milestone in the cooperation between our two nations. This Agreement will play a practical role in facilitating mutual delegation exchange and cooperation for the benefits of the Governments and peoples of both countries.

I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank to H.E Ambassador  Zeljko Bosnjak for his devotion to the  completion of negotiating and signing this Agreement.

I am confident that signing the Agreement will be a strong contribution for further strengthening the friendly cooperation relations between Vietnam and Croatia.
