Vice State President holds meeting in Laos

Vice State President Truong My Hoa met with President of the Lao Women’s Union Sisay Leudedmounsone, Lao Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Onchanh Thammavong and Vice President of the Lao Front for National Construction Bouavone Onchahom in Vientiane on July 18.

The meeting took place during her visit to Laos in order to mark the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Laos-Viet Nam Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and the 45th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Earlier the same day, Vice President Hoa called at Ammalin silk enterprise and toured the Lao People’s Army Museum and a number of cultural and historical relic sites in the Laos capital.

Also on the afternoon of July 18, a delegation of the Ministry of Culture and Information, led by Deputy Minister Do Qui Doan, was received by Samane Vinhaket, head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Steering Board for Ideology, Theory and Culture, in Vientiane.

The ministry’s Library Department also marked the anniversaries by handing over the Vietnamese language reading room to its Lao counterpart.

The room will house 5,000 Vietnamese language books on politics, culture and law. (VNA)
