Deputy FM visits three Baltic States
The Baltic States highlighted Viet Nam’s achievements after 26 years of renewal and the country’s rising position in the world.
They agreed to bolster cooperation with Viet Nam in international organisations and forums, especially within the framework of the UN and the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).
The three countries shared the same view with Viet Nam in the settlement of disputes through peaceful means based on international laws, particularly the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
They also agreed to increase the exchange of high-ranking delegations with Viet Nam to create an impetus in economics, trade, education-training, marine transport, information technology and labour.
Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania voiced their support on the early negotiation and signing of an agreement on visa exemptions for Vietnamese diplomatic passport holders.
The three countries also emphasised the necessity to negotiate with Viet Nam agreements on economic, double taxation avoidance, tourism, education and training cooperation.
