The Government leader spoke highly of the results of the talks between Thanasak Patimaprakorn and Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army, saying that the visit will make practical contributions to the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

He said as a neighbouring country of Thailand, Viet Nam is pleased with the fine development of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially economics, trade, investment, tourism and security.

The two armies have seen effective cooperation in joint sea patrols, which contributed to enhancing friendship and cooperation between the two nations, he added.

PM Dung suggested the two sides cooperate more effectively in the framework of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM+), including the East Sea issue, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large.

For his part, General Thanasak Patimaprakorn said his visit aims to strengthen cooperation between the two armies, especially in human resource training and rescue. He affirmed to try his best to boost the ties between the two countries in general and the two armies in particular.
