DPM highly values cooperation with Japan, World Bank

(VGP – 06/02/2013) - Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on February 6 in Ha Noi met with World Bank Country Director for Viet Nam Victoria Kwakwa and Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Yasuaki Tanazaki.

Deputy PM Phuc thanked the valuable supports of the international financial institution for Viet Nam, especially in public management and anti-corruption.
 
According to Mr. Phuc, the bank is working effectively with Vietnamese ministries and localities and offering useful policy recommendations in favor of the host country’s socio-economic development and international integration. 

Ms. Victoria Kwakwa said that she was impressed with the the country’s dynamic growth and achievements in poverty reduction.

She expressed her hope to receive more support from the Vietnamese side in the time to come.

During his reception for Japanese Ambassador Yasuaki Tanazaki, the Deputy PM spoke highly of the close and effective cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan, particularly in trade and investment.

Viet Nam, as the host leader said, is fruitfully tapping Japan’s ODA for socio-economic development.

Both countries need to prepare well for the 40th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties and the Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Year 2013. 

For his part, Ambassador Yasuaki Tanazaki pledged to spare no effort to cement and deepen the bilateral ties./.
