VN, Costa Rica enhance trade and investment

(VGP – 28/10/2013) - PM Nguyen Tan Dung expressed his hope that Costa Rica would help promote economic, trade and investment between Viet Nam and Latin America, during his reception for Costa Rica’s FM Jose Enrique Catillo Barrantes.

PM Dung lauded the outcomes of the talks between the two FMs and believed that the official visit would contribute to promoting the two nations’ relationship.
 
Stressing on the cooperation between the two nations, the Government chief expected that the two countries will cooperate in establishing mechanisms and signing an Agreement on Double Taxation Avoidance and an Investment Protection Agreement to boost their trade and investment.

Besides, PM Dung also suggested the two sides support each other at multilateral forums and maintain the political consultation.

According to Minister Jose Enrique Catillo Barrantes, the two nations have examined joint cooperative fields and discussed solutions to accelerate the bilateral ties.

He affirmed that Costa Rica will assist Viet Nam in promoting the cooperation with Latin America.

The same day, PM Nguyen Tan Dung also welcomed Australian Chief Minister of the Northern Territory Adam Giles who is in a working visit to Viet Nam.

PM Dung asserted that Viet Nam values the multi-faceted relations with Australia, describing the official visit of Mr. Adam Giles as a contribution to promoting the bilateral relationship.

The PM expressed his hopes that the two sides will strengthen exchanges at all levels, promote economic cooperation, trade and investment.

Viet Nam will do the best it can to assist Australian businesses invest and launch long-term businesses in Viet Nam, he added.

He proposed the two sides enhance the cooperation in terms of education-training, science-technology, labor, tourism, national defense and security.

The Vietnamese leader hoped that Australia will continue providing its Official Development Assistance for Viet Nam and help Overseas Vietnamese study and work in Australia.  

Mr. Adam Giles said Australia regards Viet Nam as a crucial partner in Asia and welcomes Vietnamese businesses to seek investment opportunities in Australia.
