(MOFA) - MOFA Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on July 12 2017 made the following remarks in regards to the death of a Vietnamese citizen in the Philippine offensives against Abu Sayyaf terrorist group :

“I am deeply saddened to confirm the loss of life of Vietnamese citizen Tran Viet Van during the offensives by the Philippine armed forces against Abu Sayyaf terrorist group. Our deepest condolences go to the family of Mr. Tran Viet Van. We wish they will soon get over this tragic moment of great loss and carry on.

The Embassy of Viet Nam in the Philippines has been working closely with other Vietnamese agencies and the Philippine authorities to complete forensic and legal works and to assist Mr Tran Viet Van’s family with his funeral services.”./.
