On 03 August 2022, in response to the question on the current situation in the Taiwan Strait, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that:

"Viet Nam consistently upholds the "One China" policy, and hopes that all parties concerned will exercise restraint, avoid escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait, and actively contribute to maintaining peace and stability and promoting cooperation and development in the region and the world."
