Nation spends 40 billion VND on energy saving
Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) will invest 40 billion VND (2.35 million USD) in a programme on economical and effective energy use in 2009, said a ministry official.
The MoIT will this year prioritise projects on energy saving solutions in businesses, Nguyen Dinh Hiep, Chief of the ministry’s Energy Saving Office (ESO), said.
The ministry also plans to implement on large scale projects to develop hot water sprays using solar energy, bio-gas plants and energy saving building, he said.
The ESO will create and broadcast radio and television programmes on energy saving and organise training courses for officials and technicians of relevant agencies and major businesses.
The office will coordinate with the Ministry of Science and Technology to build and issue standards on energy consumption for several target products and conduct surveys on energy using equipment in the market.
