Vice Minister Dang Dinh Quy

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Đặng Đình Quý was born in 1961 in Nam Dinh. He has been working in the Foreign Service since 1991 and built up profound experience in research on international relations and foreign policy.
He married and has two children.

Education
He graduated from the School of Foreign Affairs (now the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam) in 1988.
Master of Arts in Research and Development at Carleton University, Canada (1996-1998).
Doctor in History at the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences in 2013.
He is fluent in English.

Diplomatic Career
On 8 January 2016, he was appointed as Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam. Previously, in 2011, he served as President of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam and  Director General of the Institute on East Sea, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam. 
In the period of 2008 – 2009, he worked as Vice President, and Director General of the Institute of Strategic Studies, Deputy Editor of the International Research Journal, Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam.
After accomplishing his diplomatic term in the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States of America as Counselor then Minister Counselor from 2003 to 2007, he assumed the positions of Deputy Director, Vice President of the Institute of International Relations (now is the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Đặng Đình Quý started his diplomatic career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam in 1991 and worked at the West Asia – Africa Department. Then, he was sent to Japan to study the Development Policy in 1994 – 1995. After completing the course and returned to Viet Nam, he continued to work at the West Asia – Africa Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam. From 1996 to 1998, he studied and received a Master of Arts in Research and Development in Canada. After coming back, he worked at the Economic Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, and was appointed as Deputy Director of the Policy Planning Department in 2002.
 
Awards and honours
In his diplomatic career, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Đặng Đình Quý has been conferred the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit in 2011 and 2014.
