Iceland President wants to deepen ties with Viet Nam

(VNA) - Iceland President Olafur Grimsson has expressed his willingness to broaden the Iceland-Viet Nam relationship in various domains.

He made the comment while meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Xuan Hong, who presented him his credentials. The president also expressed his pleasure at the constant development in the relations between the two nations in the recent past.

The new ambassador thanked Iceland's government and people for their support to Viet Nam, especially the signing of an agreement concluding bilateral negotiations on Viet Nam's WTO membership, as well as their help given to the overseas Vietnamese community in Iceland.
