Diplomat pledges to work for stronger ties with Cuba
A Vietnamese diplomat has pledged to spare no efforts to boost Viet Nam-Cuba economic, trade, cultural, scientific and technological cooperation.
The newly accredited Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba, Vu Chi Cong, made the commitment while presenting his credentials to Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba, on September 27.
Highlighting the traditional friendship and solidarity between the people of Viet Nam and Cuba, Cong expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban people will obtain greater achievements in national construction and defence.
The ambassador also wished President Fidel Castro to fully recover so as to continue leading the Cuban people in their revolutionary cause.
Machado Ventura, who is also a Politburo member of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, asserted that the Party, Sate, Government and people of Cuba always attached great importance to promoting the friendship and solidarity with Viet Nam.-(VNA)
