Lao Cai: 12 deals signed during int’l trade fair


Contracts and memorandums of understanding worth 101 million USD were signed during the 2007 Viet Nam-China International Trade Fair that opened in northern Lao Cai province on November 30.

The 12 deals, inked by more than 100 domestic and foreign businesses, are mainly in mining, agro-forestry processing, handicrafts and mechanics.

They include a 4 million USD contract between the one-member Apatite Viet Nam Ltd and a Chinese company. The contract will raise the annual capacity of the Nhac Son Apatite Ore Sorting Factory No. 3 by 100,000 tonnes.

A 23.9 million USD contract was also signed between Viet Nam ’s Tan An Thinh and China ’s Maripo Rubber companies.

The provincial Department of Planning and Investment also granted investment licences to three projects, worth close to 5 million USD. They are projects to build a rubber processing factory and a consumer goods factory at the Bac Duyen Hai Industrial Park and an office building at the Kim Thanh Trade Centre.

The fair will last until December 5.-(VNA).
