President Truong Tan Sang receives former Malaysian Prime Minister
President Sang affirmed that Viet Nam attaches importance to the friendly and traditional relations with Malaysia.
The two sides noted with pleasure the fruitful development of the Viet Nam-Malaysia relationship, both bilaterally and multilaterally, and agreed to expand and deepen the relationship in the coming time.
They highly valued the two countries’ close cooperation and coordination at regional and international forums as well as promoting cooperation in building the ASEAN Community.
The two sides emphasised the need to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea, peacefully settle the disputes, abide by the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, strictly implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), and build a Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (COC).
The same day, President Sang called at the Quality Hero factory, where a large number of Vietnamese workers are working. He then visited the administrative city of Putrajaya.
On the afternoon of Sept. 30, the Vietnamese State leader departed for the home country, wrapping up his three-day visit to Malaysia.
Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan visited the Scientific and Technological Centre of Hicom Group, while Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen received the Malaysian Deputy Minister of Human Resource./.
