Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh receives new WHO representative

(VGP – 05/04/2012) - Viet Nam hopes to receive more support from the World Health Organisation (WHO) to improve capacity of the health sector, said Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
 
The FM made the point today in Ha Noi while receiving new WHO representative to Viet Nam Takeshi Kasai.  
 
FM Minh expressed his hope that WHO will continue to assist Viet Nam in fighting infectious and non-infectious diseases and dealing with nutrition and food safety and hygiene issues.

The WHO representative expressed his impression about Viet Nam’s achievements in socio-economic development, including healthcare.

He said that WHO considers Viet Nam as one of the nations of its prioritized cooperation and affirmed that he will coordinate with the Vietnamese Government in implementing the Viet Nam-WHO Cooperation Program in 2012-2013.
