Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang’s remark on the death of 02 Vietnamese citizens in Angola

On March 08th 2016, answering question on information about 02 Vietnamese citizens who died in Angola on the 3rd and the 5th of March, Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said:

 “On March 09th 2016, Viet Nam’s Embassy in Angola said that according to Angolan relevant agencies, Dang Quoc Nghia was robbed and killed by two native employees in his workplace in Luanda, Angola on March 03rd and Nguyen Viet Hau was killed also in his workplace in Uige province, 300km from Luanda capital on March 05th. 

After that, Viet Nam’s Embassy in Angola immediately contacted with Angolan authorities, asked them to urgently investigate the cases so that the criminals can be brought to justice soon. The Angolan authorities responded that they are carrying out the investigation and the suspects are being traced.

The Embassy, at the same time, has also closely cooperated with the Vietnamese community in the host country to assist the victims’ families to repatriate the bodies.

We also would like to offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims’ families and hope that the families will overcome this tragic loss and stabilize soon .”
