Viet Nam’s comment on the outcome of the US' Presidential Election

On November 10, 2016, answering reporters’ request for Viet Nam’s comment on the fact that Mr. Donald Trump has become the United States President-elect, MOFA Spokesperson Le Hai Binh noted:

On November 9, 2016, President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent a letter of congratulations to the United States President-elect, Mr. Donald Trump.

It reads “Viet Nam has always highly valued the friendly and cooperative relations with the US. We hope that the two countries will keep on deepening the comprehensive partnership in a practical, stable, sustainable and long-standing manner, especially in terms of economic cooperation, trade, investment, science and technology, education and training, defense and security, as well as the cooperation in regional and international issues”.
