Viet Nam embassy in Japan celebrates National Day
Ha Noi (VNA)- The Vietnamese embassy IN Japan on August 30 held a banquet in celebrations of Viet Nam’s 62th National Day, September 2.
Present at the event were President of the Japan-Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance Tsutomu Takebe, the alliance’s honourary President, Yamasaki Taky, and former head of the Cabinet Office Yasuo Fukuda.
Ambassador Chu Tuan Cap sounded satisfactory at recent fine development in bilateral relations, citing high-level agreement on a roadmap towards “Strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia.”
Japan is Viet Nam’s largest donor of official development assistance (ODA), No.1 trade partner and one of leading investors in the Southeast Asian country.
Takebe highly spoke of positive development in Japan-Viet Nam relations in all fields, ranging from politics to economics, trade, investment, tourism and culture.
He recalled Vietnamese PM Dung’s visit to Japan on October, 2006, that was wrapped up with an orientation towards “strategic partnership”, and Japanese PM Shinzo Abe’s visit to Viet Nam after attending the Meeting of Economic Leaders of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
He said three projects on the construction of trans-Viet Nam Rail Express, and Express Way and the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park are symbols of Viet Nam-Japan relations.
