Hoi An Vietnamese-Japanese cultural festival to open

The fifth Vietnamese- Japanese Cultural Festival will be held in Hoi An ancient town, Quang Nam province on August 11 and 12.

The festival will open with a photo exhibition ‘Hoi An and Kyoto’s ancient architecture’ and a showcase of images of Vietnamese people 20 years after the American war through the lense of Japanese photographer  Oishi Yoshino.

The opening ceremony will be organised on August 11 at Hoai River square with a shows of Hoi An costumes from the past and now and Japanese Kimono, along with Vietnamese and Japanese traditional dances.

The festival will also include other activities such as tea culture, calligraphy, Vietnamese folk games and painter Goto’s exhibition on the ancient streets of Japan and Hoi An. (Nhan Dan)
